EUTHANASIA, ETHICAL OR NOT?

Life is the greatest gift this universe has ever had. It is meant to be lived for, for every second that passes by is paid with a tick of a lifetime.

In this world, everybody has his share of happy moments and some difficult ones. But this is the very essence of life, for life does not walk on a plane, the ups and downs make this life more thrilling, challenging..more beautiful and filled with hope.

Nothing in this world endures, so are our physical existence. And if time will come that nothing but pain and suffering will rule over our lives in its way to the end, and when our breath to live for each moment becomes a tough, miserable struggle against pain and suffering, death then can be a relief.

So many times we have given our pets the benefit of death as their painless exit from suffering. To us, doing it is heartbreaking as it means the eventual loss of something we love, but looking at them in intense pain and hopelessness is a more excruciating experience.

What then is the value of a pet compared to a human?

If we can allow painless deaths to pets in order to end his hopeless ordeal, can we not give the same benefit to men who deserve it?

Life is good and precious but it is not meant to be lived in a hopeless coma or endless pain, there should be a painless exit that ends the desperate suffering.

Then relief...

Euthanasia therefore is ethical in this sense.

Many a man in all places of the world are suffering in intense pain most especially due to terminal illnesses, cancer, paralysis, HIV/AIDS, and many more incurable diseases which have put them down in bed for years. The pain and suffering have virtually killed them a thousand times. Most of them are actually wishing to end it once and for all.

Men are humane and they will do anything and everything to save the lives of their loved ones who are in the brink of death, yet limited human efforts and knowledge are sometimes not good enough. It takes more than a man to perform miracles, but it only takes a man to end the suffering of another man half-dead and in pain.

If man is born with the right to live, he should also be granted the choice to die in peace if the situation warrants that death for him is the better option.

Euthanasia as it is is ethical as well as it is honorable only if sincerity is its main premise. If allowed to be practiced, perfect regulation is necessary before the act is done. For many are just too bad they might just become executioners instead.
